Morning Routine

Yesterday I posted my nighttime routine, so I wanted to also share my morning routine! Starting your day with a good routine is such a good way to start your day off right and sets you up for success for the day.

The very first thing I do is take my pup outside! This may sound like a silly thing to add but I think getting fresh air right when I wake up really wakes me up and energizes me. I wash my face with the same thing I do at night which is the Cetaphil Daily Cleanser. I want to find a different face wash for the morning time but for now I’m using this since its a gentle cleanser. During the summer time my skin is more oily so I use the Murad Oil-Control Mattifier. I like this for the summer because it controls the oil on my face but also has SPF 15 so it protects my skin. For the colder/drier months i’ll use the CeraVe Moisturizing Cream since my around my nose and eyes tend to get very dry. Again, I have recently been trying to keep my skincare routine simple.

Something I forgot to mention that I do in my nighttime routine is planning my outfit out the day before. This makes getting ready in the morning so much easier and faster. Trying on a million outfit during your morning routine will make you feel hectic and that won’t set you up for a good day! I like to stay off my phone in the morning because it causes me to get distracted and not follow through with my routine! 

After getting ready and depending on the day i’ll take my puppy for a walk. I haven’t really had the time to go to the gym in the morning while school is happening. But I love going for 20-30 minute walks to start my day. Getting your heart rate up in the morning is a great way to start your day and is really good for your mental health.

When I get home from my walk i’ll make my coffee and eat breakfast. Usually by this time I don’t have too much time before I have to leave for class so I like having a quick meal. My go-to breakfast is a rice cake with peanut butter and bananas on top, it’s so yummy and I’m pretty sure its healthy. Also another little tip that has recently helped me–If you have a Keurig that automatically shuts off you can set the times. I might be a little late on this knowledge but I set the on time to turn on when I wake up. Before I had to wait for it to heat up and since mine is older it takes a little longer than it should so doing this really helped me. And then after this I’m usually off for the day!
