Alive App Review - Ready Set Liv

Alive App Review

I briefly mentioned in my previous fitness post how I’ve been using the Alive app by Whitney Simmons. I wanted to do a whole post on this because I am absolutely obsessed. To give you a quick background of my fitness journey, I’m not a super athletic person and I typically don’t know what I’m doing when I work out. Basically, I’m not anywhere near being advanced in working out. I started working out in January of this year(basic New Years’ goal, I know), and at first, I was doing random workouts I found on Instagram and mostly running on my treadmill. I QUICKLY got sick of this, literally a week into working out I was over it. I remembered I had downloaded the Alive app my bestie, Alexis, told me about. So I decided to finally take a look at it after having it downloaded on my phone for a month. I did the 7-day free trial and was immediately hooked and knew I had to sign up to keep using it. To use the programs it’s $14.99 a month, which may sound like a lot for an app but trust me, it’s worth it. I also look at it as around the same price as gym membership and you can do the majority of the workouts at home.

The first program I decided to do was the Alive Inside. This program is 4 weeks of circuit training with 5 workouts per week. The workouts vary between 18-60 minutes and are recommended for anyone from beggginer to advance. Each week you have two days of full body cardio, two days of full body strength and one day of full body strength and cardio. I felt like this program would be best for me to start with to get my body back into working out. The full body workouts can be intense some days but they weren’t too overwhelming. I also didn’t want to start out with specific workouts like arms for a whole day because I wanted to warm my body up to working out. The great thing about the app though is, if you do want to do something extra one day there are also daily workouts. So I would usually add in the five minute ab workout to the end of my shorter workouts. You can also add in warm up and cool downs which have been super helpful! I absolutely loved doing this program and I really feel like it got me back into the swing of working out. They did recently add a beginner program, this one is great for anyone going back into a gym or getting comfortable with a new gym.

The second program I did and am currently doing is Alive Inside 2.0. This program is 6 weeks of circuit training with 5 workouts per week. The workouts vary between 28-55 minutes and are recommended for anyone from beginner to advance, very similar to Alive Inside. The main difference with this one is the types of workouts. Every week you have one leg day, one upper day, two HIIT + abs day and one full body strength day. I’m currently on my fourth week of this program and I’m really loving it. I feel like every day I’m getting stronger. This program feels a little more advance than the previous one, but again, it’s not too difficult. If you’re more advance in working out I would recommend going straight to this program. The app has other programs as well but they require gym equipment. One day if I work up the courage to go to the gym I will definitely try them out. But for now I’m going to keep doing the Alive inside 2.0 until then or if she adds another at-home program.

I highly recommend giving this app a try if you’re looking to get back into working out or even if you’re just looking for something new! I truly feel like this app has made me fall inlove with working out. And if you don’t know me, just know that’s saying a lot coming from me. If you guys try out this app, please let me know what you think! I hope you all love it just as much as I do. I will definitely be sharing more about this app in the future(lots on my instagram) and also progress pictures eventually!

xx,

Liv
